The Jedi Temple — Council Structure

Each Council has certain responsibilities and attributes. They are detailed here.

Councilship

Getting into one of the Councils is not hard if you already meet the requirements; no trial or other such test is required. The Jedi High Council controls both who gets into itself and who gets into the other Councils. To be eligible to become a Councillor in the Jedi High Council, one must be a Jedi Knight or Master. The lifetime members of the High Council unanimously votes in new Council members for the High Council. As for the other Councils, the High Council as a whole votes members into the other Councils by a vote of at least two-thirds.

The Councils

The High Council

The Jedi High Council has the utmost power in the clan, the last say on matters. It consists or will eventually consist of twelve noble Jedi of any type. Their decisions affect the direction that the clan takes, and they control how it gets there. Other webpages of this website describe other responsibilities of this Council. The High Council's twelve members are divided into three sets of members, each having a certain amount of time to serve in the Council:

High Council Lifetime Members

The Jedi High Council lifetime members are on the Jedi High Council for the entirety of the clan's lifetime. They are mostly the founders of the clan.

High Council Long-term Members

The Jedi High Council long-term members are on the Jedi High Council for approximately four months.

High Council Limited-term Members

The Jedi High Council limited-term members are on the Jedi High Council for approximately two months.

The Council of First Knowledge

The Council of First Knowledge consists of Jedi Consulars who serve to give advice to Jedi who seek it. They mainly are responsible for maintaining the Jedi Archives and for administrating the Jedi Consular type.

The Council of Reconciliation

The Council of Reconciliatin consists of Jedi Sentinels who serve to find peaceful settlements to political disputes within the clan or with other clans in Jedi Academy. They mainly are responsible for starting or ending clan wars, tournaments, and for foreign relations with other clans. They administrate the Jedi Sentinel type.

The Reassignment Council

The Reassignment Council consists of Jedi Guardians who serve to organize the clan members in terms of recruitments and where younglings should go if they cannot find a place within the Jedi Order. They mainly are responsible for clan practices and for administrating the Jedi Guardians.
